How to DIY Multichrome Nails
Want to create ultra-reflective, metallic chrome looks with your Loose Multichrome Pigments?
You can easily turn them into chrome powders, perfect for nails, editorial shoots, or high-shine finishes that shift color in every light.
1. Apply a Gel Base
Start with any gel nail base color. A black base will make the multichrome shifts appear the most vivid and dimensional, while lighter bases give a softer, pearlescent finish.
2. Add a Non-Wipe Top Coat & Cure
Apply a thin layer of non-wipe gel top coat and cure it under a UV/LED lamp for about 30 seconds. The surface should feel smooth and slightly tacky, that’s what helps the chrome adhere.
3. Rub in the Pigment
Using your fingertip, a sponge applicator, or a silicone tool, press and rub the pigment into the cured surface. Apply firm, even pressure, this activates the metallic reflection and creates that glass-chrome finish.
4. Seal with a Topcoat & Cure
Finish with another layer of gel topcoat to lock in the shine and prevent transfer. Cure again until fully set.
Watch as your pigment transforms into a mirror-like chrome surface that shifts with every movement.
Experiment with different base colors to discover endless custom chrome effects, from deep oil-slick reflections to pastel holographic gleams.
